“It was difficult for the creators to get used to the idea that the exhibition should not be “translated” into the language of the chat, but should be created immediately according to its conditions. Art placed in the context of a conversational thread requires much more perception of the presence of the artist or curator. Thus, the staging techniques worked better. Liisbeth Horn and Elina Masing hit it well, and their couple of hours of performative testing, tested the participants’ meme tolerance.

In essence, with their work ‘Grindr’, they called on the participants to take part in a wave of shit-posting, which’s  confusingly unmeaningful content is also its liberating value. Some also dared to join the conversation more actively, and it is still unknown to the curators whether the person who posted the most sinister memes (who had to be removed from the chat for ethical reasons), was a created by the artists or someone in need of expression who got lost in the chat. There could have been even more works with a similar approach.”
